HAPPY 75TH BIRTHDAY

On December 1, 1941 volunteers formed the Civil Air Patrol because of their perceived need to protect America from the invasion tactics used by the Germans and Japanese. Unbeknownst to them, the need for their services would quickly be tested. Only six days later, Pearl Harbor was attacked and the United States was committed to defeating the enemies abroad and protecting the coastal areas of the United States from enemy attacks. The men and women of the newly formed coastal patrol participated in providing countless hours of service to the military and were responsible for stopping deadly German U-boat attacks along U.S. coastlines and waterways.   Follow this link to find out more about the amazing history of the men and women who formed those first Civil Air Patrol units.
